In 2008, 262 people were killed, 1113 seriously injured and 3398 received minor injuries in the 7,784 alcohol-related crashes.

In 2008, someone was killed or injured every 1.8 hours in an alcohol-related crash.

Of 2008 alcohol-related traffic crashes in Missouri, 32 percent of the fatalities and 42 percent of the injuries occurred to some other party involved in the crash -- not the drinking driver or pedestrian.

Nationally, in 2007, nearly 13,000 people were killed in highway crashes involving a driver or motorcycle operator with an illegal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher.
