More Missouri motorists arrived alive in 2007. Traffic fatalities were down 11 percent. This decline allowed the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety to reach its goal of 1,000 or fewer highway deaths in 2008 one year early. Missouri had 974 traffic fatalities last year, the lowest number in 15 years.
