Car crashes are the number one killer of children. During the last three years in Missouri, 56 children were killed and 437 more suffered disabling injuries. According to the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration, three out of four child safety seats are improperly installed.
Missouri law requires all children under eight to be in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat, unless:
- They are at least 80 pounds.
- They are at least 4’9” tall.
For more information on traveling safely with your children, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Web site at www.nhtsa.dot.gov.
