The Greenville High School FCCLA Chapter and its advisors, Jeanette Walk and SRO Sgt. Donnie Robinson, have gone to great lengths to educate students and the public about safe driving.
During the 2025-2026 school year, Greenville students engaged in various activities to promote seat belt use. They conducted seat belt checks as vehicles entered school parking lots, awarding prizes to those wearing seat belts. FCCLA members, along with sponsors Jeanette Walk and SRO Sgt. Donnie Robinson, led a school-wide assembly to educate students about the Buckle Up Phone Down campaign. During the presentation, students were encouraged to sign up online to take the BUPD Challenge. Thanks to these efforts, Greenville High School achieved First Place in their division in the statewide BUPD pledge competition sponsored by AAA and MoDOT. On April 8th, the FCCLA Chapter helped Sgt. Robinson present a mock car crash to illustrate the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. The event featured student actors in real-life simulations, including law enforcement activities and the use of lifesaving medical and extrication equipment operated by trained professionals.
The group’s efforts have significantly increased awareness of the importance of seat belt use across Wayne County.
